Wet Waste Collections
Doyle Bros is committed to delivering our services in an environmentally sustainable manner. In line with that commitment, our focus is now strongly on resource recovery rather than landfill.
All Food and other wet waste is collected in separately marked bins and taken to Clyde Transfer Station where it is transferred to the Woodlawn Bioreactor – a disused opencut mine. Green energy is produced using the methane created by the waste that has been landfilled.
Our main focus is to collect as much material in our MIXED Waste & Recyclable Collections so that the material can be processed at our Materials Recycling Facility (MURF) and would consider the landfill as the last resort. We always try and look closely at each job to maximize the amount of material diverted away from landfill.
